In late 2014, the Coca-Cola Company announced that it had signed an agreement with a newly formed independent startup company – Coca-Cola Beverages Florida (CCBF). The agreement initially included the distribution of Coca-Cola beverages starting in central Florida, but would be expanded in 2015 to also include north Florida (Orlando, Jacksonville, Daytona, etc.). This was part of a nationwide shift for Coca-Cola Refreshments, which accounted for about 80 percent of the total bottle/can distribution business in 2014, but will offload that to key newly formed businesses, so that by 2017, it will account for only about 33 percent of that volume.
According to their President, Troy Taylor, with about $400 Million in revenue and 1,100 employees, Coca-Cola Beverages Florida (CCBF) was one of the biggest startups in the U.S. In early 2015, Bokanyi Consulting, a Kellton Tech Company was contacted, under non-disclosure, to bid on the corporate financial system for the newly formed CCBF, an independent corporation in need of an ERP system to run their business. the company bid on the request for proposal and demonstrations with SAP Business All-in-One, using a best-practices rapid implementation approach. One of the key challenges was that CCBF’s corporate needed their financial systems to be running and closing the books in 3 months. There were also specific reports and analytics that needed to be fully functional and accurate for the CCBF financial team, to enable them to respond to Coca-Cola Company requests with information from CCBF’s own system.
The Bokanyi, a Kellon Tech Company and CCBF teams made the deadline! This new business has been running on SAP since June 1, 2015. Learn more about CCBF at www.cocacolaflorida.com. CCBF’s SAP system will be the platform for growth that will extend to additional distribution and bottling facilities in the coming years. Thanks to the CCBF team for their motivation and dedication to going live with SAP while maintaining their momentum and focus on their primary responsibilities as a startup company.
